What are the rules in Portugal to participate in one of your competition ? (rules on the transport and use of 16 joules airguns) ?
With "cartao europeu de arma de fogo", can we move in Portugal and use this airguns, in accordance with the laws of the country ?

Hi Jean,
Sorry for answering now. I just arrived from a 3 day vacation.
The rules/laws are quite simple:
1. Silencers are not allowed (proihibited). No exceptions here. Consequences for using them: Jail.
2. Scopes are not allowed (Proihibited) in Portugal but we have an exception in the law as long as the scope is used for sports/competitions.
Since Field Target is a sport controled by the Portuguese Shooting Federation and Police knows no problem here.
3. Airguns guns are free to be used in Portugal. No documentation needed as long as the air rifle is less than 24Joules/16.3ft/lbs (Much more than the 16j/ 12 ft/lbs normally used in Field Target)
4. If you have the "cartao europeu de arma de fogo" certificated it will be even easier.
So if you want to pratice/do a competition Field Target in Portugal what you need to do/make sure:
1. The competion must have the Portuguese Shooting Fedeartion Logo. This small detail garanties that it is an official competition.
2. You need a document with an invitation, send by the organization. The invitation should mention that you will be participating in a Field Target Competition Controlled by the Portuguese Shooting Fedeation.
This is to solve the scope problem.
Thst's about it.
Quite easy exactually but some procedures must be made with time.
Sergio.
